“Be the Change you want to see in the World.”
Imagine walking into work with same buzz of energy that you had just three days before on Friday. Imagine someone bringing you a delicious latte just because. Imagine a genuine “Hey, How are you doing?” That doesn’t just pass the conversation, but is said with open ears. If I asked you to realistically answer what your ideal Monday would look like, what would you say? (Of course lounging on the couch with sweatpants would be a top choice, but again, lets be realistic here). Whatever it may look like, I challenge you to “Be the change you want to see in the World” – in your world. Make your ideal Monday a reality for someone else. And who knows, the smile that you pass along today, may be just the thing you need from someone else down the road.
This week of training before the Pan American Games in Canada will be… well… Hell. Mentally, physically, emotionally draining as we work into the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. We will be pushed to physical limits that will expire every ounce of energy as we hit the line for conditioning, lifting, and practice. Here I sit before this mayhem begins drinking coffee and thinking about the stress that is to come. I have a choice when I wake up tomorrow to be the change I want to see in the world – in my world. I can either let the day get the best of me, or I can get the best of the day. I will choose the second. I will be the best version of myself with a smile on my face. This is the change I want to see in my world, so I will spark the change.
